“Each day, though it bring its trouble, it shall also bring its help; and though you should live longer than Methuselah, and your needs should be as many as the sands of the seashore, yet God’s grace and mercy will last through all your necessities, and you will never know a real lack.” – C.H. Spurgeon

Today is one of those days where it is better for me to let Charles Spurgeon, the “Prince of Preachers,” add further commentary on this subject and for me to be quiet… and hit the “Send” button. I have also included some insights from Os Hillman, a devotional writer who is president of Marketplace Leaders.

First, from Charles Spurgeon…

“You will see the sinner’s hope perish, for he trusts in himself; you will see the proud Pharisee’s confidence crumble, for he builds his hope upon the sand; you will even see your own plans blown apart, but you will discover that your daily needs are amply supplied. Better to have God for your guardian than the Bank of England for your possession. You might spend the wealth of the nations, but you can never exhaust the infinite mercies of God.”

And now, from Os Hillman…

“In God’s kingdom, provision comes as a result of your obedience, not your sweat and toil. In His kingdom, you rely on God as your source. Sure, He requires you to work, but your work is not your provider; He is your provider.”

And finally, from Jesus Christ…

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things. For your Heavenly Father knows that you have need of them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.” Matthew 6:31-33 (BSB)
