Life's Most Perplexing Questions

Why do some evil people seemingly prosper while some seemingly good people suffer?
Why are some small children afflicted with dreadful diseases like cancer?
Why do hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires, earthquakes, and floods continue to wreak havoc on the earth?
Why do some mothers abort their precious preborn babies while other women, who would love to have children, remain barren?
Why do the rich and powerful get away with crimes that normal people would be incarcerated for?
Why do people continue to vote for the same corrupt career politicians year after year?
Why do 70% of criminals commit new crimes once they are released from prison?
Why do some people insist on driving while drunk or high on drugs?
Life is full of questions and truth be told, you and I will never know many of the answers. When sin entered the world, it corrupted the world and everything in it – people, animals, and all creation. And so, the easy explanation for many of those “Why” questions is simply this: because sin stains everyone and everything.
However, the good news is that – in the midst of all this chaos and confusion – God remains 100% in control. He is still on His throne, and nothing avoids His attention or catches Him by surprise. That means that when we are searching for answers to life’s most difficult questions and contradictions, we can turn to God and rest in the knowledge that He knows exactly what He is doing.
We may not understand His ways and frankly, there are times we may not like them either. However, we still must T-R-U-S-T that (1) He knows best; and (2) He loves us. And because of #1 and #2, everything will work out just fine, whether it is in this life or in the next one.
