All My Love, Dale

“The whole heart of Christ is dedicated to His people.” – C.H. Spurgeon
When I was a child, I distinctly remember my parents sharing greeting cards with each other on their birthdays and various holidays. Without fail, my dad would always sign his cards to my mom with the same words…
“All my love, Bill”
When it was my mom’s turn to sign a card to my dad, she invariably signed it…
“Forever yours, June”
Over the years, I have used various ways to sign my cards to Deanna, usually taking a page out of my dad’s book and writing “All my love, Dale”. Since we’re closing in on our 41st wedding anniversary in June, I guess it’s worked pretty well.
Either way, the subject of love letters got me thinking about the one that God wrote to us. It contains 66 different books, and He used many different men to pen the actual words. However, rest assured that the Holy Spirit inspired each and every one of them (see 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Yes, my friend, the Bible is God’s eternal and everlasting love letter to the human race as a whole… and to you and me in particular.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (NKJV)
“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” I John 4:8 (BSB)
